Pikey Peak Trek

9 Days 8 Nights

The Pikey Peak Trek is a short and scenic trek in Nepal’s Lower Solukhumbu (Everest) region, famous for offering one of the best panoramic sunrise views in the Himalayas. At an elevation of 3,650 meters, Pikey Peak provides breathtaking vistas of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Annapurna—all visible on a clear day.

This trek is ideal for travelers seeking spectacular mountain views, authentic Sherpa culture, and peaceful trails, without high altitude challenges or crowded routes

Managing a week from Kathmandu, trekkers can enjoy the trek on the Pikey Peak Base Camp Trail. The wonders are spectacular on the way, taking the sights of the indigenous communities, colourful flags on the rooftops, and passing through the pristine forests. The itching feet will continuously kick the ground and escort you to the pinnacle, where the sublimity can be felt. If you love yoga and meditation, this is the best place to meditate and feel spirituality at the fresh point that faces the top of the world- Mt. Everest (8848 meters). Further excellent views of the Himalayas include Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Makalu (8,485m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201), and others.

Overview

The name “Pikey” comes from the local Sherpa deity believed to protect the region. Pikey Peak has long been a sacred hill for the Sherpa people, traditionally climbed during festivals and important ceremonies.

According to legend, Sir Edmund Hillary once said that Pikey Peak offered his favorite view of Mount Everest.

The region is rich in Buddhist culture, with monasteries, mani walls, prayer flags, and centuries-old Sherpa settlements.
