Lower Dolpo Trekking

18 Days 17 Nights

The Lower Dolpo region is one of Nepal’s most remote and culturally rich areas. The history of trekking in Lower Dolpo is closely tied to the ancient culture, trade, and spiritual traditions of the Dolpo-pa people.
“Ancient Cultural Heritage”
Lower Dolpo has been inhabited for centuries by communities influenced by Tibetan culture. The people practice Tibetan Buddhism and the ancient Bon religion, which pre-dates Buddhism in the region. Many monasteries, mani walls, chortens, and sacred sites found along the Lower Dolpo trekking trail are centuries old and reflect a living spiritual heritage.

The villages along the trail, such as Ringmo, Chhepka, and Dunai, were historically established as settlement and trade points in the high Himalayas. The architecture of these villages, with stone houses and flat roofs, has remained largely unchanged for hundreds of years.
