Mount Baruntse Expedion, a splendid climbing mountain lies in the Makalu Barun National Park in the eastern part of Nepal bordering Sagarmatha National Park on the west. Mount Baruntse is in a remote and quiet region of Makalu which is not climbed often as it has a physically demanding approach.
This mountain stands in the middle of the Makalu and Everest region which is surrounded by Barun Glacier to the east, Hunku Glacier to the south, and Imja Glacier to the northwest.
Mount Baruntse was first summited in 1954 via South Ridge by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow who was part of a New Zealand expedition group led by Sir Edmund Hillary.

The Mount Baruntse expedition comprises “base camp” (5400m), “camp I” (6100m), and “camp II” (6400M) before the summit and provides extra days of acclimatization at camp II.
