Tilicho(7134m) peak climbing expedition is one of the more challenging 7000m climbs. We follow the classic trekking route of Annapurna circuit up to Manang village and then proceed towards Tilicho Lake to approach the mountain via Khangsar and Besi Khola, After base camp there will be II or III high camps established for the summit assault on Tilicho peak. The climb is very straightforward from the base camp to camp I (5800m/19,029ft.). Camp I is situated on a shelf below the Northwest shoulder just above 45deg mixed rock and ice terrain. Camp II (6100m) is located on the shoulder and accessed via a 50deg and 500m long snowfield. The shoulder itself is also a 50deg 700m snowfield with low objective hazard and very low exposure due to a very large width of the shoulder. Climbing Tilicho peak requires fixed ropes as you approachcamp II at 6300m.

The standard caravan route to reach the Advanced Base Camp of Tilicho Peak goes through Besishahar via the Marsyangdi Valley. The approach takesaround 8 days and offers excellent acclimatization. After the Tilicho Peak climb one option to return to Kathmandu is to hike 4 days via Thorong La pass (5416m) then fly from Jomsom to Pokhara then drive back to Kathmandu.Another option is to go through the difficult Mesokanto Pass (5300m) and then fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. Summiters have breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Lake, Tibetan plateau and down to the deepest valley in the world the Kali Gandaki Valley.
